With rooms and suites spread across the grounds, The Zanzibari is a peaceful and relaxing place to stay, perched on the northern tip of Zanzibar. Set on a cliff, The Zanzibari has wonderful views out over the Indian Ocean. 

All rooms are air conditioned and have spacious ensuite bathrooms. Each room has its own private balcony facing the lush gardens and sea beyond. The 2 Frangipane Suites are set slightly apart from the main building to provide seclusion. Each has its own terrace, plunge pool and private beach area. They are well suited to families of groups of friends travelling together. The Bustani Suite is a single storey villa with an open plan lounge and a private terrace, set in the hotel gardens.

There is PADI dive centre nearby and there is also good snorkelling in the area. Kayaking, windsurfing and fishing are also popular activities. The Zanzibari can arrange a number of excursions including a spice tour, historical tour and cultural visit to a nearby village. Guests can also take relaxing dhow cruises. The fishing village of Nungwi can be reached in a few minutes, walking along the beach at low tide. The hotel has a lovely infinity pool set in the lush tropical gardens and plenty of sunny and shaded seating areas.

The spa at the Zanzibari offers a range of treatments. Private and group yoga classes are also available, incorporating breathing techniques, flowing postures, sun salutations and relaxation. Reiki is also offered to guests. This is a simple, non-invasive healing system and benefits include deep relaxation and the release of tension, better sleep, reduced blood pressure and the acceleration of the body's self-healing abilities.

The cuisine is continental with an emphasis on fresh seafood, served in the airy, open-sided dining room. Outside main meal times a variety of snacks is available. The dhow bar is well stocked with wines, beers and spirits as well as juices and refreshing non alcoholic drinks. Guests can relax in the lounge, which has a TV and internet access.
