What a unique and unusual hotel this is! The architecture is fascinating being as it is basically built inside of an old refrigeration plant but with all the old machinery and derelict parts still left to see. It is, however, a very high quality hotel with very well-appointed rooms with huge windows looking out onto amazing views of the fjord and mountains behind. The bar/lounge/dining area is vast and hugely high-ceilinged yet manages to be welcoming, the spa is minimalist but good, we loved the little funicular, and the excursions were varied and well-guided. The food is more bistro-style than fine dining but you will eat very well here.
