The Oberoi

The Oberoi is set on Turtle Bay on the north-west coast of Mauritius. The 20 acres of unspoilt sub tropical gardens offer privacy and relaxation. The hotel has 600 metres of oceanfront for guests to enjoy and is located within a protected marine park. The architecture is a fusion of African, Asian and European styles and uses natural elements such as wood, stone and thatch so as to blend in with its surroundings.

Accommodation is made up of rooms and suites. All are spacious and sumptuously furnished in relaxing neutral tones. All have a 4-poster bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower and a sunken marble bath with views to the private open air walled garden. Room facilities include TV, DVD player, internet access, safe, minibar, tea and coffee making facilities and butler service. There is also 24 hour room service. In addition there are villas, each set in its own garden with a dining gazebo and most with private pool.

This is an ideal location for a range of water sports including windsurfing, water-skiing, sailing and diving. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, sauna, fitness centre and tennis court. There is also a spa offering pampering treatments. Other facilities include a beauty salon, kids' club and a PADI dive centre.

Food is a blend of European, Oriental and Creole influences. The main restaurant is a stunning building with a soaring ceiling of palm thatched timbers and splendid ocean views. Guests can choose whether they dine inside or outside. The Lagoon Pool Restaurant is open for light lunches, such as salads, pasta, pizzas and sandwiches. The bar serves wines and spirits and is open from 11.
