The Hide is one of Hwange's best known safari camps, with numerous industry accolades to their name. At the Hide, it's not just about your safari experience, although this is possible the first and foremost consideration, but it's also about your experience in camp, and the staff work hard to provide the perfect safari for you down to the very last detail.

There are 8 deluxe tents, 2 deluxe honeymoon tents and a private safari house. Having recently undergone a facelift, the camp has still retained its authentic charm with the addition of some contemporary finishes. Each spacious tent has an en-suite bathroom, some with baths and some with indoor or outdoor showers. Doors open out onto the veranda, and you can while away some time watching the animals as they frequent the busy waterhole.

The main building is a two storey thatched affair providing excellent views of the waterhole. It is here that you can enjoy delicious meals around a large teak table as you chat with fellow travellers. There's a well stocked bar, a lounge area, a swimming pool and of course a spacious deck where, on warm evenings, dining takes place. 

If you want to get a little more up close and personal with the wildlife, you can visit the sunken hide, metres away from the waterhole, you can almost touch the animals from here and you should get some excellent photographs. Guided walks are popular in Hwange, and these are offered at the Hide, along with game drives. The wildlife in the area is diverse and the concentrations good, birding is also excellent here with over 400 species recorded to date. There are no set times for activities at the Hide, it all revolves around you and what you would like to do and for how long, and there is no limit to the activities you could do each day either.
