Open: Terraco das Quitandas is open all year.

Location: The guest house is on Mozambique Island just off the northern coast, and can be reached by the 3 kilometre road bridge. The nearest airport is Nampula, about a 2 hour drive away.

Rooms: There are 6 guest rooms, all with en-suite or private bathrooms and air conditioning, which vary in size and layout. 2 are on the ground floor, reached by the courtyard, 3 are on the 1st floor and the other on the 2nd and top floor. They are decorated in Arab style and include antique furniture.

Activities: The guest house is within walking distance of the main square and major sights and museums. You can also walk to the seafront. Staff can arrange a guided walking tour of the island and a dhow cruise.

Facilities: There are 3 sitting rooms of varying sizes, 1 with an honesty bar, and a games room. Outside there is a shaded courtyard, 2 balconies and a spacious roof terrace with lovely ocean and sunset views. There is no television at Terraco das Quitandas.

Dining: The guest house serves a continental breakfast supplemented by cooked eggs, served in the main lounge. Lunch and dinner can be arranged but must be booked in advance. There is a choice of restaurants and cafes nearby, however.

Children: Children of all ages are welcome.

Health: This is a malarial area.

Communication: There is no internet access, but there is mobile phone reception.

Notes: The guest house accepts cash payment only, in Mozambican meticals, US dollars, sterling and euros.
