This innovative property is situated in the 57,000 acre Tarangire Conservation Area that straddles the wet-season migration route into the adjacent Tarangire National Park. Elewana Tarangire Treetops consists of 20 huge thatched tree houses set on platforms amongst baobab, mopani and Wild Fig trees, designed to blend beautifully into their surroundings. Each luxurious en-suite treehouse is decorated with colourful local crafts and natural fabrics and has a private veranda and lounge area, with sweeping views over the private conservation area.

Excellent food is served in the dining area, which is situated close to the swimming pool and the elephant water hole, and there is an open air library.

Tarangire Treetops is particularly well known for its night safaris, which give you the opportunity to view a wide range of nocturnal animals. Home to a unique ecosystem, the area has all the same species of wildlife as the Tarangire National Park, including buffalo, lion, cheetah, leopard and elephant, and huge herds of elephant frequent the site of the camp on their way to watering in the Sand River, ensuring year-round resident game.

Tarangire Conservation Area offers the opportunity for diversity from the vehicle-based daytime game drives and does so in a remote wilderness area, free of the minibus hordes. Visitors are allowed to experience the nocturnal glimpses of wildlife on a night drive, to experience the African savannah from the comparatively unique perspective of a foot safari and visit a Tanzanian village that has profited from their experiences.
