Open: Solio Lodge is open all year, apart from the month of November.

Location: Solio Lodge is a private conservancy surrounded by ranch land, between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountains. You fly into Nanyuki airstrip, from where it's a 90 minute drive to the lodge. Private charter flights can land at Solio's own airstrip.

Rooms: There are 5 guest cottages, each with an en-suite bedroom, a lounge with a fireplace, and a private sundeck with views of Mount Kenya. 1 of the cottages has 2 bedrooms and makes good family accommodation. Every cottage has a safe and a minibar, and bathrooms have both a bath and a shower, and his and hers hand basins.

Activities: During your stay you can go on game drives, join a guide for a nature walk, explore on horseback or by bike, go bird watching, visit a nearby coffee plantation, enjoy trout fishing in Aberdare National Park, and take a helicopter flight to Mount Kenya.

Facilities: The main lodge has a sitting-cum-dining room leading out to a terrace, a small shop, veranda, and a separate dining deck in the gardens. Spa therapies are available in your room.

Dining: Meals are served indoors and outside. Most meals are eaten communally. Bush breakfasts can be arranged, as can private dinners in your cottage.

Children: Children of all ages are welcome.

Health: This is not a malarial area.

Communication: There is free wifi in the main lodge, and mobile phone coverage.
