Shanti Maurice has a selection of suites and villas set in 36 acres of lush tropical gardens with views of inland hills and the Indian Ocean. In this restful setting you have the chance to relax and recharge your batteries.

There are 61 suites and villas throughout the gardens. All have en-suite bathroom, separate dressing room, plasma screen TV, DVD player and internet access. The villas are larger and have private gardens and swimming pools. The 2 bedroom villas are ideal for families.

The spa at Shanti Maurice has a lovely garden setting and has 25 treatment rooms offering a range of traditional Ayurveda and Yoga and contemporary spa treatments. You can have a consultation with the spa therapists to work out your own treatment programme. Meditation, pilates and aquafit classes are also available and you can enjoy being pampered in the beauty salon, which offers manicures, pedicures and haircuts and styling. There is a spa pool and jacuzzi - ideal for chilling out after treatments. The well equipped gym offers the chance to burn off calories and guests can be provided with their own training programme after a consultation with the gym staff.

All manner of water sports can be enjoyed here including sailing, wind surfing, sailing and snorkelling. Motorised water sports such as water-skiing and parasailing are available nearby. You can go for nature walks in the gardens, selecting a seclude spot for your freshly prepared picnic. There is a library and DVD collection, which you are welcome to use.

Cuisine at Maurice is a blend of traditional Mauritian, including tasty curries, and modern international fare. Freshly grown herbs (from the garden), vegetables and fruit also feature prominently as do fish and seafood. Red Ginger, the lobby bar, has indoor and outdoor areas and serves a fine selection of drinks and snacks.
