Selous Impala Camp is in a lovely spot by the Rufiji River in Selous Game Reserve. It is between two lakes, and it really is a fabulously rich wildlife area.

The camp has just eight high-quality tents set on high wooden decking with great views of the river and of the forest beyond. The colonial period furniture enhances the atmosphere of exploration and adventure. Each tent at Selous Impala has a dressing room, an en-suite bathroom with a flush loo and good shower, and a verandah overlooking the Rufiji. The tents are spread over a large area, so they’re very private.

The lounge, dining area and bar are within the large thatched low-slung main building.  You can also eat outdoors under the stars if you prefer. The bar and the fireplace overlook the river - a perfect spot for a pre-dinner drink.

And after a day’s game activities, you can head for the swimming pool before settling down for a 3-course meal and a good chat by the fire.

By the way, don't be surprised if you get closer than you think to wildlife whilst here - animals very often walk through camp. Even elephants!
