Set within the Linyanti Concession in northern Botswana, Savuti Camp, operated by Wilderness Safaris, is in front of the spectacular Savuti Channel, an area rich in game and predators. This channel goes through natural cycles of being completely dry (often for many years) and then having flowing waters. These attract abundant game, but even in dry cycles, as now, there is water at certain times of year making this a rich feeding ground for plains game (with accompanying predators) as it is a savannah corridor between mopane woodlands.
The Linyanti is home to large concentrations of wildlife, especially in the dry winter season. Roan and sable antelope, giraffe and large numbers of elephant can often be seen, as well as predators including lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and wild dog. Even the rarely-seen aardvark and aardwolf can be spotted here. There are day and night game drives and guided walks to enable you to fully explore the area. Game viewing from the various hides around the camp is another popular option.
There are just seven tents in this camp, which is one of just three camps in the 1,250km² Linyanti Reserve. Savuti Camp provides very comfortable accommodation with en-suite facilities. Five of the bathrooms are within the tents and two tents have bathrooms with wonderful open fronts facing onto the Savuti Channel. Each tent is raised off the ground on a wooden deck. The camp has a thatched lounge, dining area and bar on a raised wooden deck, and an attractive plunge pool and sundeck, plus a firepit for pre and post-dinner drinks.

Client Rating for Botswana 5/5 from 120 reviews
More reviewsAs we sat looking at a giraffe, our guide, Willy, suddenly said "Hold on" and we shot off along the track to find ourselves watching a wild cat streaking across the open grassland chased by a pack of wild dogs. No wonder I loved Savuti Camp! I also loved the position on the Savuti Channel as it was very picturesque and it meant that we had game viewing in both dry areas and wetter areas. Sometime we felt like we weren't going to see anything, as the mopane woodland here is quite thick in parts, but as luck would have it we were pleasantly surprised on all the drives we did. The rooms, food and staff were all top notch, adding to a great experience.
