Location:  Rohet Garh is located in the village of Rohet on the edge of the Thar Desert, in Rajasthan. The nearest airport and railway station are in Jodhpur, about a 45-minute drive away. The hotel is situated on the banks of a lake in a rural setting with pleasant landscaped gardens.  

Rooms:  There are 34 spacious guest rooms and suites, all air conditioned and with en-suite bathrooms. They feature frescoes and attractive furnishings. Each room is unique and may feature window seats, stain glass windows, alcoves and wooden beamed ceilings. Modern amenities include a phone, safe, tea and coffee makers and complimentary toiletries. Rooms look out onto gardens or the lake. The suites are larger and have a separate sitting area. The hotel offers room service.    

Activities:  Exploring local villages and the desert, picnics, bird watching, cycling, cookery workshops. The hotel arranged excursions to local places of interest such as the temples at Osian, the Jain temples of Ranakpur and Kumbhalgarh Fort. Rohet Garh has a stable of horses and offers an extensive riding programme. October to March are the best months for horse riding. You can watch cooking demonstrations in one of the pretty courtyards.  

Facilities:  The hotel is set in gardens near a lake. There is an outdoor swimming pool with 4 pavilions. Dinner is often eaten outdoors and folk musicians perform on some evenings. Guests can relax indoors and out, in the 2 sitting rooms, complete with cards and board games, and on the terraces and verandas. The hotel has an open sided restaurant overlooking the pool which serves Indian and continental cuisine. Meals can also be enjoyed on the tented dining terrace. On some evening music and dance performances take place. There is a spacious rooftop bar overlooking the lake. The spa offers Ayurvedic treatments and massages. The hotel has a travel desk and offers a laundry service.

Dining:  Meals are taken at individual tables.

Children:  Children of all ages are welcome. Babysitting is available on request.  

Health:  We recommend malaria prophylactics for travel to India.

Communication:  There is internet access in the main office, but service can be intermittent.
