This impressive fort is set on a low hill above a lake beneath the expansive skies of Rajasthan. Whether you choose to spend time within the walls enjoying the views, take walks and boat rides in the surrounding countryside or venture out to nearby wildlife sanctuaries, you'll find plenty to do at Ramathra.
Accommodation is a mix of suites and luxury tents. The suites are spacious with sitting rooms and private terraces or a large shared courtyard. They are opulently decorated, so feel truly luxurious. The tents are arranged in a courtyard against the might rampart walls. They have high ceilings and screened windows and sitting rooms equipped with comfy chairs and coffee tables. All have private bathrooms with hot water, showers and flush toilets plus a front porch.
The stables have been converted into an atmospheric dining room, just the place for sociable meals. The food at Ramathra is based on local cuisine cooked in traditional style, giving a taste of authentic Rajasthani fare. There'a well stocked bar for pre and post-dinner drinks.
While here you can visit the local village, go for walks by Kalisil Lake and, after the monsoon rains, take boat rides. Kailadevi National Park is just 15kms away while Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary and Ranthambore Tiger Reserve can be visited from Ramathra. On arrival back the fort you can relax with a soak in the turret-top jacuzzi.

Client Rating for India 5/5 from 130 reviews

Beautiful surroundings and felt like we were definitely off the beaten track. The first night we were there we were up-graded to the most wonderful suite, had a massage outside on the bed on a top rampart. Udit and the rest of his family could not have been more welcoming and took us a lovely wilderness tour. The food was cooked by locals although rather simple was delicious. The wild rose soap in the bathroom smells out of this world.
