Pumulani means 'place of rest', it is the ideal place to relax and unwind after a safari. It is on the west side of the Nankumba Peninsula at the southern end of Lake Malawi. This is the only lodge situated inside the Lake Malawi National Park, an area which is now a World Heritage Site and protects the endangered cichlid fish of the area.
The lodge is on a hillside with lovely views from the rooms. The main building has an open-sided dining room, bar and a large deck with views over the lake. There is a horizon swimming pool on a lower terraced deck, and walkways that lead down to the beach and the second rim-flow pool.
The villa style rooms are huge and are privately separated by rocks and trees. Each of the ten rooms has a bedroom, bathroom and sitting area with raised decks. Luxurious bathrooms contain both showers and baths.
Pumulani has a private beach and a bar on the beach for drinks and light snacks, decks and 2 infinity pools. There are also shady gardens for those wanting to escape the sun! There are plenty of activities available, both water and land-based including dhow cruises at sunset, kayaking, cycling and village tours, or you can simply take life easily by one of the pools or the lake shore.
