Open: Pom Pom Camp is open all year.
Location: Pom Pom Camp is on an island in the Matsebe Concession of the Okavango Delta. The camp has its own airstrip which is a 20 minute flight from Maun.
Rooms: There are 9 large walk-in tents set beneath the shade of tall trees and overlooking a lagoon which attracts varied wildlife. All have en-suite bathrooms, open to the sky, with shower, twin hand basins and flush toilet. Toiletries are provided. Each tent has a small seating area separated from bedroom by sliding glass doors. The secluded honeymoon suite has an outdoor bath. There is one larger tent that can accommodate a family of up to four (two adults and two children). Tents are cooled by fans and have electric lights.
Activities: At Pom Pom you can take mokoro and motorboat rides, go fishing, take day and night game drives and go bird watching. Nature walks are offered when possible.
Facilities: The core of the camp is a thatched building containing the bar, lounge and dining area. There are charging points and a curio shop. In front of this is an open air space with a camp fire where drinks and pre-dinner snacks are served. There is a swimming pool close to the main lodge. The camp has a laundry service. The camp is lit by lamps at night and it is a good idea to take a torch. The camp is open (unfenced) and guards escort you to and from tents after dark.
Dining: Meals are taken communally with other guests, camp managers and guides, around the large dining table. They are generally buffets. The 'dining in the wild' is an atmospheric 3-course bush dinner by a campfire in a special location 10 minutes from the camp.
Children: Children aged 6 years and older are welcome. A private vehicle must be booked for children aged 6-11. The minimum age for walking safaris and mokoro excursions is 12 years.
Health: This is a malarial area.
Communication: There is no internet access.

Client Rating for Botswana 5/5 from 120 reviews
More reviewsCould not fault the camp or its superb location. An exciting place to be in the tent with the animal noises at night, really close to nature. The game drives, boat and mokoro trips were memorable with excellent guides.
