Great location. Just spoilt a bit by other stupid tourists, but you cannot legislate for that.

In the old town area of the city and near the main square with a few restaurants nearby. Lovely covered courtyard where you have meals. Boutique style with interesting furnishings and pictures. Our room didn't have a window looking out at all but we did have a second floor with a living room and the en-suite. Very helpful and friendly concierge.

Great location in the heart of the town. Staff were very helpful and the dinning room was very special in the courtyard. Wine was ridiculously expensive with a mark up that was excessive. We had a duplex room with a very challenging staircase - I would avoid this type of room. Overall a good place to stay.

A lovely characterful hotel centrally situated. We really felt we were in Ecuador. We ate in and eventually learned that only one course was necessary given the quantities provided! We also learnt that "shrimps" means "large prawns" in Ecuador.

Very characterful and comfortable hotel in the old part of Quito so very convenient for all of the sights and attractions of Quito of which there are many. We spent a total of 5 nights there before and after the Galapagos and were very glad we did.

Fabulous hotel, with very comfortable rooms and great staff and service. The bar and its 'garden' area are lovely, if a little underused, and the dining room is in the main, glass-covered courtyard area. As it was always late and we were tired when we arrived there, we had dinner in the hotel - the food was delicious although the wine was pricey. We stayed in the hotel three times between trips and laundry was ready on our return from the rainforest. Would definitely recommend the hotel.

We only had a very brief stay here, arriving late one evening and leaving early the next morning. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant, the portions were huge!

Great location, you can do some interesting walks around the historic centre. A guided city tour is well worth half a day, you are taken to some great view points. Lovely 2 storey rooms. Great service.

There were a few niggles with the room; we had to ask a few times for the safe to be made operable and a requested bath hat never arrived. Breakfast was good on the first morning and the boxed breakfast on departure day was more than adequate.

My Mother's room didn't have any windows that open as it appears none of them do apart from ours in the attic! Her room had a window on to the hotel courtyard but you couldn't really remove the net curtain (or open the window) as guests could see straight in etc. Our room was rather cold and much smaller than the one my mother was given. However, even more stairs to our room than to my mother's which would have been too much at that altitude for her.

Positive • Great hotel. Perfect location. Superb duplex room • Service from reception and bell boys excellent Negative • Room never cool enough. • Upstairs bathroom and lots of hanging storage might not suit some people (going to the bathroom in the middle of the night could result in a fall on the stairs which could be slippery). • It took 20 mins from the time we ordered our welcome drink in the bar to get it. • One dinner main course of hamburgers was very over cooked (the other was fine). They offered us free dessert as compensation - a good response. • No decaf coffee - the only hotel not to!

Very clean, 4 star hotel. Note that most rooms do not have an outside window. Most have a window on to one of 2 large internal courtyards. Restaurant food was good and staff very helpful.

noisy rooms at night with only internal windows onto corridors. However, a beautiful and restful hotel that is steeped in history and has been sensitively restored. Perfect location for exploring the old town.

We really enjoyed returning to Patio Andaluz, checking in and out 3 times during our trip. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the location in the old town very central, the bedrooms comfortable, the public areas spacious and tastefully decorated with good sitting areas and vases of the local roses on the tables, and the food was good.

The hotel was well equipped, rooms were comfortable with everything you could need. The staff were pleasant, but reception was not wholly efficient (they missed an early morning call). The building is very attractive and very well located in the old town which felt very safe to walk around. The only disappointment was the restaurant. The food wasn't great, and since it was our first stop and we were tired, we didn't feel like venturing out to find a restaurant. Breakfast was OK, buffet style, but not inspiring.

A good hotel but for someone with limited time, it's the location which is brilliant. Although we appreciated the taxi and guide to take us up out of the city (great photos) we could walk everywhere we wanted to go in Old Quito from the hotel.
