Open: Pashan Garh is open from 16th October to the end of May each year.
Location: The lodge is in the Vindhya Hills beside the River Ken, 12kms from the entrance to Panna National Park and about 45kms from Khajuraho. The grounds cover 80 hectares and include jungle.
Rooms: There are 12 guest cottages built of stone, each occupying 41sqm and spaced 35m apart. All have a kingsize bed (twin beds can be arranged on request), en-suite bathroom with his and hers hand basins, a large shower, toiletries, bathrobes, slippers and sarongs. They are air conditioned, have ceiling fans, electronic safe, minifridge, hairdryer, an intercom, yoga kit and mat. In addition, all cottages have a private veranda with a sala (shaded daybed). There is room service.
Activities: You can take twice daily safaris in open 4x4 vehicles in Panna Tiger Reserve led by a skilled naturalist guide in search of animal and bird life. Elephant-back safaris are offered subject to availability. You can join a guided bird watching walk in the extensive lodge grounds. The famous temples at Khajuraho are just a 1-hour drive, and the local town, Panna, is worth a visit for a taste of daily life in this area. Cooking classes with the chefs can be organised.
Facilities: These comprise a sitting room that leads out to a covered deck, a dining room, library with a computer for guest use, a shop and an outdoor swimming pool. The hotel is set within 80 hectares of grounds. There is a laundry service.
Dining: The lodge offers a range of cuisines including local Bundelkhand fare. There are indoor and outdoor eating areas. Room service is available and special ‘palanquin dining’ a bush dinner on an oxcart, can be organized. Many ingredients are grown in the on-site organic vegetable garden. Due to a government ruling alcohol is not currently served at this property.
Children: Children of all ages are welcome. Extra beds and cribs can be provided on request. Babysitting can be arranged. Special activities such as village visits, bird watching, tour of the organic garden, cooking lessons and picnics are available for youngsters.
Health: We recommend malaria prophylactics for travel to India.
Communication: There is free Wi-Fi internet access in communal areas.
