Open: Outpost Lodge is open all year.

Location: Outpost Lodge is in a quiet suburb of the city of Arusha in northern Tanzania, within walking distance of shops and restaurants and a five minute drive from the town centre. The nearest airports are Arusha (30 minute drive) and Kilimanjaro (about an hours' drive away).

Rooms: There are 28 rooms ranged across the main house and guest wing, the new extension and the garden bungalows. They vary in size including singles, twins and doubles, triples and on quadruple. All have en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water and a range of toiletries, satellite TV, kettle and a supply of tea and coffee, mosquito nets and fans. Rooms in the new wing are the largest and include a room with disabled facilities.

Activities: Swimming, sunbathing, shopping in Arusha. The lodge is generally used as stopping off point before or after a northern circuit safari, or before and after a Kilimanjaro climb.

Facilities: The lodge is set in attractive, well-tended tropical gardens full of flowers, birds and bushbabies. There is an outdoor, salt water swimming pool and a sundeck. Cafe Mambo is the popular eaterie and has an outdoor deck. It serves a range of cuisines including Indian and Western. Daily breakfast is included in the room price. There is a bar. The lodge provides a laundry service to be paid for locally.

Dining: Meals are eaten at individual tables.

Children: Children of all ages are welcome.

Health: This is a malarial area.

Communication: There is free Wi-Fi internet access in the restaurant, bar and by the pool. There is a reasonable mobile phone signal.  

Notes: The lodge welcomes guests with disabilities and one guest room has been modified for easy access.
