Nsolo Camp

Open:  Nsolo Camp is open from mid-May till the end of October each year. It is owned and run by Norman Carr Safaris (NCS).

Location: Nsolo Camp is in South Luangwa National Park, situated on the banks of the Luwi River, about a 3hour game-viewing drive from Mfuwe airport.

Rooms: There are 4 guest chalets set on elevated decks, built from reed and grass. They have open air en-suite bathrooms and solar power. Each has a private deck with views of the waterholes by the river.

Activities: The emphasis is on walking safaris with the opportunity to track some of the resident lion, with the option of game drives. A visit to Nsolo combines well with stays at other NCS camps.

Facilities:  There’s a central lounge, dining area and bar, with a collection of books, set beneath a thatched roof. It leads out to a deck which overlooks the waterholes where you can often see animals and birds drinking.

Dining:  Meals are eaten as a group, in the covered dining room or out in the open, with dinner often served on the sandbank by the river.

Children: Children aged 12 years and over are welcome, though there are no special activities for children. The camp is unfenced so children need to be kept under supervision at all times.

Health:  This is a malarial area.

Communication:  There is no Wi-Fi internet access or mobile coverage. Mchenja Bush Camp is in radio contact with the other NCS camps and the main lodge, Kapani.
