Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge is unique in being the only tourist development on the eastern rim of the crater and offers magnificent views down into the crater floor and spectacular sunsets over the western horizon. Crater safaris, the main activity, begin within five minutes of the lodge, another major advantage of staying here.

This large lodge has just under 100 guest rooms, each with central heating, useful on chilly evenings, a private lounge with mini bar and an en-suite bathroom. Rooms also have private verandas, some with stunning views down into the crater floor or of the setting sun.

The central building houses the large reception area, a gift shop, the lounge bar and dining room. The dining room has tables arranged around an open fire and a glass-fronted area allowing diners to enjoy the wonderful views. The lounge bar has a similar layout and view and is a great place to chat over a drink. There is an outdoor swimming pool, sharing the wonderful crater views.
