Open: Ndarakwai is open all year, though may close in April and/or November depending on bookings.

Location: Ndarakwai is located on the slopes of West Kilimanjaro at an altitude of 1,350 metres. It is set in a private concession (Ndarakwai Ranch) of 4,500 hectares. It can be reached from Arusha in about 2 hours in a 4x4 vehicle. There is an airstrip 5 minutes' drive from the lodge.

Rooms: There are 16 large tents with en-suite facilities comprising a shower, hand basin and flush toilet. Tents are set on raised wooden decks and have thatched roofs and net windows. There is a lockable trunk in each tent.

Activities: Ndarakwai offers game drive, night drives, guided walks, bird watching, forest walks to see colobus monkeys, Maasai village visits, hikes on Kilimanjaro and day trips to Arusha National Park.

Facilities: There is a large dining / bar / lounge area next to the river and 2 indoor fireplaces plus an outdoor campfire. Food is sourced from the ranch or grown nearby. There is a spacious pavilion for meetings, workshops, yoga etc. There is a massage service. The lodge has a treehouse overlooking a waterhole for game viewing and sundowners. There is a laundry service.

Dining: Meals are taken communally. Much of the produce comes from the ranch or is grown nearby.

Children: Children of all ages are welcome. Babysitting can be arranged.

Health: We recommend malaria prophylactics for travel to Tanzania.

Communication: There is Wi-Fi internet access at reception.

Notes: The lodge accepts major credit cards.
