Open: Mwamba Bush Camp is open 20th May to 31st October each year.

Location: Mwamba Bush Camp is in a remote location the banks of the Mwamba River in South Luangwa National Park. It is often teamed with its sister camp, Kaingo, which is a 3-hour bushwalk or a 20-minute drive away.

Rooms: There are 3 chalets built of reed and thatch with 2 skylights set high into the roof. They have large outdoor bathrooms with hot bucket showers and flush toilets. The bathrooms are enclosed by tall reed walls. There is storage space and a lockable box for valuables.

Activities: The camp offers 3 game viewing activities per day, in the early morning, at midday and in the late afternoon. Activities include game drives, night drives, walking safaris and watching wildlife from hides.

Facilities: The main lounge and dining area, or chitenge, is spacious, set beneath tall ebony trees. There are chairs and a sofa and lots of books and some board games. The chitenge includes a small bar area. Meals are served in the chitenge or under a thatched gazebo by the river. The camp offers a laundry service.

Dining: Meals are taken communally.

Children: Children over the age of 8 are welcome. It should be noted that Mwamba is not fenced and children must be kept under supervision at all times.

Health: This is a malarial area.

Communication: There is no internet access.

Still very special. Wouldn\'t hesitate to return. Charlie and Matt were great hosts, and our fellow guests helped to make the experience; especially since we could join Meg\'s birthday celebration dinner in the bush. Best suited for those who are happy to spend hours sat in a hide waiting for visitors, rather than racing around chasing the tick list.
