Mwagusi Safari Camp

surpassed expectation, location was beautiful, accommodation was excellent and staff were friendly and informative.

Very peaceful with nice views over riverbed. Very roomy and the open part particularly lovely, but the bathroom feels a bit tired due to the lighting being very poor in this area. Food - loved the way the platters are kept hot on the open coals.

This has a delightful setting. Lovely beds, pillows and hot showers. Food was always varied and they all try very hard to help make it a special experience in this beautiful park. Henrik , the manager, was always helpful and nothing was too much to ask for.

This is a beautiful safari camp in the game rich Ruaha National Park. The staff are friendly and the food is fantastic. Guiding is excellent. Not sure there is anything else you could need or want for a better safari experience.

I was pretty pleased to have been relocated to Mwagusi, which is a superb camp. The management was brilliant in adapting to suit the rapidly changing weather conditions and in making sure my own experience was as good as they could possible make it. Simon was hugely knowledgeable, and what was very impressive was the huge effort he went to, to pass this on to all the guides. There was even a little class room on site to lecture them on bush-craft and such skills.

Not only is this lovely camp in one of the best areas in Ruaha for game, but it is in a truly beautiful location on the Mwagusi River (which, by the way, is sand for most of the year but it’s still an incredible spot), and the guiding is really excellent. I loved the rooms, which are part tent and part stone built – both under thatch. They are not the fanciest in Ruaha, but very comfortable, and I could have sat on my verandah all day long to watch the wildlife from my rocky perch. I would return in a heartbeat.
