Motswari private game reserve is located in the northern part of the the Timbavati in Greater Kruger Park. The 150 square kilometres are home to a wide variety of wildlife including the Big 5. The lodge has been operating for over 30 years and is owned and managed by the Geiger family who, along with their Shangaan staff, provide a warm welcome and relaxing atmosphere.

There are 15 rondavel-style rooms, all with air conditioning and en-suite bathrooms. The rooms are attractively furnished with natural textiles. 2 rooms are interconnecting, ideal for familes, while a further 5 rooms can accommodate a third bed. Children from 6 years old are welcome at Motswari. Motswari has a 6 specialist wildlife guides, all local to the area. Guests enjoy game drives at both sunrise and sunset. Guided walking safaris are also available. The game reserve has a 25 kilometre unfenced border with Kruger National Park and wildlife sightings are superb. As well as the Big 5, guests here can expect to see cheetah, giraffe, wild dogs and various antelope and gazelle. Nocturnal animals include honey badger, hyena, bush babies and owls. There are also over 350 species of birds, making this a great bird watching destination.

Between game viewing activities guests can relax at the lodge, enjoying the delicious food, usually served al fresco on the veranda, deck or camp boma. There is also a spacious lounge, 2 licensed bars, a library, art gallery/reading room, a curio shop and a swimming pool. Motswari has wifi and internet access.
