Meno A Kwena is a tented camp very much in the style of a traditional safari camp. The camp overlooks the Boteti River, which began flowing in 2008 having been dry for a number of years. The pace of life at Meno A Kwena is relaxed, allowing guests to savour the vast African skies and the richness of wildlife in the Makgadikgadi National Park and salt pans.
During the dry season (June to October), the river provides the only source of water for much of Southern Africa's second-largest zebra and wildebeest migration. At this time resident and migratory wildlife includes elephants, white rhinos, monkeys, giraffes, wild dogs, all drawn to the river to drink. In the summer months (November to June) there are large herds of zebra and wildebeest in the open plains and pans. Safari activities are designed for guests to get the best year-round wildlife viewing opportunities. Guided walks with local Bushman are a speciality at Meno A Kwena and offer a different perspective on life in this remote area.
Accommodation is in large comfortable safari tents on the riverbank, with en-suite bathrooms that have flush toilets and both indoor and outdoor showers. Between activities guests relax around camp, take a dip in the natural rock pool and enjoy safari-style meals cooked over the campfire, on the barbecue and in the tin box oven. The central tent houses the lounge, dining area, bar and reference library.

Client Rating for Botswana 5/5 from 120 reviews
More reviewsA very different experience and they are excellent at what they do. The 'bucket shower' system was so much more than we had anticipated. Hot water was provided whenever we wanted it, and the shower area had a lovely view, complete with Zebras and Elephants. Particularly attentive and creative regarding Vegetarian and Lacto intolerance diets. We also enjoyed the Bushmen walk very much, the information and their sense of humour.
