Medina del Lago is a modern hotel high in a clearing surrounded by tall trees and the Andes Mountains. This peaceful and scenic setting is just a 20 minute drive from the popular market town of Otavalo. 

The hotel has been designed to make the most of the fabulous location. You enter the hotel through a wide courtyard and once inside are struck by the light and space with picture windows providing far reaching views of Pablo Lake and Imbabura Volcano. Contemporary artworks and design features add a touch of 21st century style. Both the first floor lounge and the ground floor restaurant share panoramic views, as does the large terrace where you can enjoy al fresco refreshments. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, complimented by wine from the cellar. There's afternoon tea, too, with hot drinks and cakes. To round off your day you are invited to head outside to sit by the campfire as you enjoy a warming hot chocolate and listen to local folklore. 

Bedrooms are modern with clean lines, ambient lighting and floor-to-ceiling windows. Bathrooms are similarly sleek and have walk in rainfall showers and marble surfaces. Suites provide greater space including a sitting area, some with a fireplace and some with balconies. Whichever room you select you have the benefit of TV and free Wi-Fi.

During your stay you can follow hiking trails to explore the area around the hotel, go horse riding, enjoy a guided tour of Otavalo and visit Condor Park where rescue birds are cared for and rehabilitated.
