Open: Mashatu Lodge is open all year.

Location: Mashatu Lodge is in Mashatu Private Game Reserve in Northern Tuli Game Reserve in eastern Botswana, near the borders with South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Rooms: There are 14 guest suites. All are air-conditioned, have a double and single bed plus a lounge area with a day bed. The bathroom has both a bathtub and shower and a separate toilet. Each has a large covered terrace with sun loungers. There are interconnecting suites for families.

Activities: 4x4 morning, afternoon and night game drives with a guide and tracker, guided nature walks and bird watching are supplemented by horse (experienced riders only) and mountain bike riding and wildlife watching and photography from hides.

The lodge has a central lounge bar and a dining room. There is an infinity swimming pool and sun deck. The discovery room is part museum part display area where you can get some background information about the region, its flora and fauna. Outdoors there's a boma with a campfire, used for open-air dinners. The camp has a shop that sells attractive local crafts, jewellery and clothes. There is 24-hour electricity and a laundry service (pay locally for laundry).

Dining: Most meals are eaten at individual tables, though dinner in the boma is a group affair, often accompanied by displays of singing and dancing.

Children: Children of all ages are welcome, and interconnecting suites can easily accommodate families. Certain restrictions apply to children under five years in terms of activities.
