Mara Porini Camp is a small, exclusive camp situated on the Maasai-owned Ol Kinyei Wildlife Conservancy, a pristine wilderness with open savannah plains, riverine forest, springs, streams and rolling hills with spectacular views across the Masai Mara. Porini is an open camp meaning that it is not uncommon for them to have nightly visits from grazing buffalo and elephants. Consequently Maasai guides accompany guests to their tents, ensuring their safety.
The six spacious tents are situated in the shade of yellow barked Acacia trees along the banks of the Laetoli, a permanently flowing brook. They are furnished with comfortable rustic-looking beds and are equipped with en suite bathrooms with flush toilet and safari shower. They provide a real camping experience in the bush but without sacrificing creature comforts. Overlooking the camp is the lounge area where you can relax with a drink as the sun sets over the Masai Mara. A huge spacious tent with two bedrooms and a lounge is perfect for families or a group of friends travelling together.
You'll have a choice of wildlife viewing options, including game drives in the conservancy with chances to spot the large resident pride of lions as well a wide variety of grazing animals and predators that are resident in the area. Full day drives in the National Reserve and night drives are also popular. An early morning ethno-botanical walk with a local Maasai guide gives you an opportunity to explore the flora and fauna in more detail.
Food is excellent with home-baked bread, fresh salads and high quality meals prepared by the chef all served by the hospitable Maasai staff. Dining is normally outdoors with the sounds of the plains animals mixing with the aromas of the meal.

Client Rating for Kenya 5/5 from 58 reviews
6 tents beautifully sited in a remote (and not easily accessible by vehicle) corner of the Conservancy. Plenty of (benign) wildlife wandering into and round the camp - and a wide variety of birds on the doorstep.
