Mara Intrepids is located at the confluence of the Masai Mara's 4 game-viewing areas, in one of the most spectacular locations in the Mara ecosystem. It consists of 30 guest tents, and communal areas including a large swimming pool and wildlife viewing deck. The camp is family-friendly, operates 2 children's clubs and is fully fenced to ensure guest safety.

The camp is a short drive from the Mara River, where more than a million wildebeest and zebra make their perilous migration crossing every July and August. The game viewing is excellent all year with large numbers of plains game and predators, and at Mara Intrepids you have 3 game drives a day to make the most of your time here. There are also opportunities for guided bush walks to gain a different perspective on the natural world.

Guest tents are comfy, with four poster beds, reproduction furniture, polished wooden floors and gauze windows. All are en-suite and have full running water, walk in shower, hand basin and vanity unit, and a separate flush toilet. Each has a private veranda. There are 2 family tents, each with 2 en-suite bedrooms and a lounge.

During your downtime at the camp as you rest between safaris you can enjoy tasty food, play board games, browse though naturalist reference books and chat to other guests. There's an attractive free form swimming pool and deck with sunny and shaded spots, and a viewing deck where you can watch.wildlife by the river as you sip a drink from the bar. Families can take advantage of the children's clubs (for ages 4 to 16), which operate between game drives.

Client Rating for Kenya 5/5 from 58 reviews

This is a reasonably large, though not huge camp of 30 tents. I'd say it is particularly good for families (it has 2 kids clubs and is fenced), though certainly also worth considering for couples and friends. It's good quality, though not as exclusive as its sister camp (Mara Explorer) next door, and the tents are very well done. I didn't stay here, but I would happily do so. If you're looking at Governors Main Camp, which is just slightly bigger, this is another good option to consider.
