The Malabar House is ideally located for sightseeing, shopping and backwater cruises in the hotel's own eco-friendly house boat. It is directly opposite St Francis Church and just a few minutes’ walk from the Chinese fishing nets but seems miles away from the hustle and bustle.  The history of the hotel dates back to 1755 when it was owned by spice traders. It has since been the property of a succession of wealthy tea traders and bankers until it became Fort Cochin's first heritage boutique hotel in 1996. 

There are 17 unique rooms and suites, each as beautifully designed as the next. Whilst the decor and furnishings enhance the historical feel of the hotel, mod cons such as air conditioning, TV, phone, hot drinks maker, minibar and en-suite bathrooms have been successfully incorporated. 

The Malabar Junction restaurant offers a blend of local and continental food including exquisite and fresh seafood. Tapas is served in a more informal setting in the wine lounge. For your entertainment you can enjoy classical music or a dance performance on the patio’s stage or experience the hotel's spa where you can enjoy the benefits of traditional Ayurvedic treatments.
