With 52 cabins dotted around the gardens, Lomas del Volcan has a quaint and relaxing atmosphere. Making the most of the views of Arenal Volcano -  one of Costa Rica's iconic sights - each cabin has two verandas, one on each side, so depending on the time of day, or your mood, you can change the view simply by moving to the other veranda. All rooms have either king or queen size beds and huge windows to maximise the views. The cabins are warm and cosy, each comes with a minibar, coffee maker, safe, ceiling fan, air conditioning, TV, telephone and an en-suite bathroom.  Built of wood, there are accents of bright colours in the soft furnishings and pictures that adorn the walls and the windows highlight the lush green surroundings.

Wander down the pathways to the main area. It's easy to relax here by the pool or jacuzzi, bordered with lush green gardens and overlooked by the towering Arenal volcano. Tasty meals are served here but if you fancy something different, La Fortuna town has more restaurants and is only 10 minutes away, so you could try some authentic eateries in town. El Volcan bar, on-site serves beer, South American wines and also delicious cocktails; enjoy them while taking in the beautiful views of the volcano which dominate the skyline.

From the moment you arrive, you will feel part of the nature that surrounds you. There is a 1.5km walking trail on the property where you can discover birds and wildlife at your own pace. The vegetation in this area is so lush, green and inviting. It compels you to sit and take in the sights and sounds that surround you. There are plenty of other activities on offer in the area that are not to be missed. You can get your adrenaline pumping while zip-lining or abseiling down a waterfall. Take advantage of guided excursions to Arenal Volcano National Park and visit the hanging bridges or take a dip in the healing hot springs. White water rafting and horse riding are other ways of seeing the sights. You are close enough to be able to visit Cano Negro National Park from here too.
