Open: Elewana Loisaba Tented Camp is open all year round.

Location: The camp sits on an escarpment in the Loisaba Private Conservancy in Laikipia.

Rooms: The 6 tented rooms are spacious and elegantly furnished. Bright textiles plush rugs add colour to the neutral safari colours. The netted windows admit the breeze and provide access to the stunning views. There are 3 doubles and 3 twins that can be converted to doubles if required. The en-suite bathrooms have rain shower with solar-heated water, flush toilet and double basins. Tents all have private verandas overlooking the escarpment. The double tents can be joined with a twin tent to form a family unit, one of which has a private plunge pool.

Activities: Early morning and late afternoon game drives allow you to explore deeper into the conservancy be it across the plains, along the river bank or through the bush. Keen riders can explore on horseback. Get closer to the diversity and explore on foot with a traditional Samburu guide. Those wanting to learn more about the local culture can spend an afternoon at a Maasai village and see how they live. Camel safaris are another option and a great way to see more of Loisaba from a different vantage point, or if you prefer two wheels, then take to a mountain bike and explore some of the trails together with a guide. A highlight for many is a visit to the Loisaba sniffer dogs and the anti-poaching team. Warrior, Machine and their handler will take you through an anti-poaching demonstration.

Facilities: There is a comfortable lounge tent with open sides and a high canvas roof. This leads through to the dining area. The expansive deck is also perfect for dining al-fresco. Steps lead down to the grassy area where you will find the fire pit. To the side of the deck is the infinity pool. The main areas all look out over the conservancy.

Dining: Delicious meals are served in the dining room or al-fresco. A children's menu is also available.

Children: Children of all ages are welcome.
