From its lofty vantage point, above the plains of Laikipia, Elewana Loisaba Tented Camp provides guests with an upmarket safari experience coupled with superb panoramic views. Staying here gives you access to 56,000 acres of private reserve that you share with the wildlife that roams this expansive area.

The main areas of the camp are found in a spacious permanent tent. This is where you'll find the lounge and bar area. Polished wooden floors are home to comfy seating set around low tables. Neutral safari tones have been used throughout, but splashes of bright colours and patterns add style and panache. The lounge leads through to the open plan dining area. The front and sides of the tent are open and the spacious deck stretches out beyond the canvas roof, perfect for dining out under the stars or relaxing as you watch wildlife moving across the plains. Just below the deck, to the side, is the infinity pool which also benefits from those amazing panoramic views that you won't be able to get enough of.

The six guest tents are spacious and just as stylish as the main area. Once again, polished wooden floors are covered with cosy rugs. Floor to ceiling doors and windows look out over the escarpment. There is a lounge area, and an en-suite bathroom with a rain shower, flush toilet and twin basins. The veranda has sun loungers, perfect for a relaxing afternoon between activities. Two tents can be connected to form a family unit that benefits from its own plunge pool.

Loisaba is home to the Big 5 and you may also see cheetah, wild dog, giraffe, oryx and the rare Grevy's zebra. Birders won't be disappointed either with over 500 species recorded in the area. With a wide variety of activities available, guests will never be bored. Game drives take place early morning and late afternoon. You can explore the varied landscape, made up of plains, woodland, scrub, rivers and streams. Mountain bikes and camel trekking are on offer along with guided nature walks.
