Open: Elewana Loisaba Star Beds is open all year round.

Location: The camp sits on a rocky kopje in the Loisaba Private Conservancy in Laikipia, Kenya. It overlooks the valley and a permanent waterhole.

Rooms: There are three double platforms and one family platform with two double beds pushed out onto two platforms. Each platform is open plan and partially covered by thatch. There's a seating area and en-suite bathroom with bucket shower, flush toilet and basin. Each platform has a small safe. If required the rooms can fit an extra single bed, though this will not roll out under the stars.

Activities: Early morning and late afternoon game drives allow you to explore deeper into the conservancy be it across the plains, along the river bank or through the bush. Keen riders can explore on horseback. Get closer to the diversity and explore on foot with a traditional Samburu guide. Those wanting to learn more about the local culture can spend an afternoon at a Maasai village and see how they live. Camel safaris are another option and a great way to see more of Loisaba from a different vantage point, or if you prefer two wheels, then take to a mountain bike and explore some of the trails together with a guide. A highlight for many is a visit to the Loisaba sniffer dogs and the anti-poaching team. Warrior, Machine and their handler will take you through an anti-poaching demonstration.

Facilities: There is a cosy lounge area under thatch with comfy couches and chairs. A warming fire is lit on cool mornings and evenings. From the lounge, you walk out onto the dining deck which overlooks the valley.

Dining: Delicious meals are served al-fresco or in the dining area under thatch.

Children: Children of all ages are welcome, though due to the nature of the accommodation and decks we don't recommend Loisaba Starbeds for small children.
