This traditional tented camp offers the discerning traveller an authentic bush experience, without compromising on the comfort and hospitality that one associates with a Zimbabwe safari.
You will find the en-suite tents nestling in the shade of sausage and ebony trees, on the banks of the Zambezi river, 3km downstream from sister camp, Vundu. The views are stunning, overlooking the Zambezi Escarpment across the water. There are five tents, each with mozzie net covered twin beds that are locally made, and batik throws that add colour and character to the rooms. The en-suite bathroom is open-air with thatched grass walls providing privacy. There are flush toilets, bucket showers and twin basins.
The main area is reached via a walkway, and here delicious home-cooked meals are served. Dinner is often enjoyed under the stars, reminiscent of a safari of times gone by.
Activities offered at Little Vundu are game drives and walks in the mornings and then afternoons are usually spent canoeing on the river. The camp itself is often visited by wildlife as elephants come down to the water to drink and enjoy the green grass in front of camp, they are also partial to the pods on the trees. If fishing is something you would like to try, then there is excellent fishing right off the banks in front of camp.
