
Open: Lion Safari Camp is open from October to June. (July to September is the monsoon).
Location: Lion Safari Camp is in Gir National Camp in Gujarat, western India. It is located in a privately owned mango orchard overlooking the Hiran river. The nearest airports are Diu (100kms) and Rajkot (160kms) and the nearest railway station is Veraval (40kms).
Rooms: There are 21 spacious air conditioned tents with attached en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold water. They are furnished with natural materials and open out to an extended deck.
Activities: Morning and evening wildlife safaris in Gir National Park and Devaliya Safari Park, birding safaris, visits to a crocodile breeding farm, local villages, beaches, hot springs and temples.
Facilities: There is a multi-cuisine restaurant serving Indian, Chinese and continental food. The recreation lounge has a selection of indoor games, a pool table and a satellite TV. There is an internet facility, gift shop, campfire and conference hall. The camp stages traditional cultural entertainment with folk dance.
Dining: Meals are taken at individual tables.
Children: Children of all ages are welcome.
Health: We recommend malaria prophylactics for travel to India.
