This stylish lodge is located on a hilltop overlooking the plains in the far north of the Serengeti. From June to October each year this region is the scene of the migation with vast numbers of wildebeest and zebras massing to brave the crossing of the Mara River. The game viewing is good at other times of year, too, and game drives in customised 4x4 vehicles provide plenty of excitement. Walking safaris are also available if booked in advance. Balloon rides can also be arranged.
The lodge's main areas include a large lounge tent with comfy sofas, a selection of reading material and games including chess, and a dining tent. Both open on to a wide deck, ideal for wildlife watching and al fresco dining. You can relax with a swim in the rim-flow pool or maybe treat yourself to a soothing massage at Melengali Spa, just what you need after a busy safari.
The 15 tented suites are superbly sited anong the rocky outcrops, with full length glass doors letting you enjoy the views as you relax within. Slide the doors open and you can walk out on the deck where there's seating and an inviting plunge pool. Each suite has a lounge area and a bathroom with 24 hour running water, a bath, shower and flush toilet. There is internet access in guest suites and throughout the lodge.

Client Rating for Tanzania 5/5 from 217 reviews
This was an amazing place to stay. Rich and Tansy were extremely welcoming as were all the staff. The accommodation was sublime. Extremely comfortable with wonderful views over the Serengeti. We were able to drink the water and we were given refillable water bottles to use and to keep. The food was delicious and plentiful but never too much and served on a balcony overlooking the Serengeti. The early morning game drives were exciting and the picnic breakfasts and lunches were delicious and it was wonderful sitting amongst the trees watching the elephants wonder by. The migration was far beyond what we imagined. The number of wildebeest was unbelievable. We were waved off on every Game Drive and welcomed back with cool wet flannels. A truly memorable Lodge which we were sad to leave.
