Kings Pool Camp

Open: Open all year. 

Location: The camp is located in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, on the western boundary of Chobe National Park. It overlooks the Linyanti River and the oxbow-shaped Kings Pool Lagoon. The camp is about a 45 minute drive from Chobe airstrip. 

Rooms: There are 9 canvas and thatch tents, built on wooden platforms along the edge of the lagoon. As well as a large bedroom, each tent has a lounge area, sala and private plunge pool. The en-suite bathrooms have twin basins and showers plus an outdoor shower. 

Activities: The camp offers day and night game drives and guided walks. When water levels allow, river crises are also available. There are 2 hides, one at the western end of the camp, ideally placed for watching game come down to drink and the other is an underground hide, viewing the water and game at eye-level. The Linyanti is a good area for bird watching. Fishing, on a catch and release basis, is also offered. 

Facilities: The lounge, dining room and bar are on a large raised deck. From here it is possible to watch animals approach and sometimes cross the Linyanti River. In addition to the lounge there are also two sunken seating areas with views of the lagoon. There is a swimming pool and outdoor dining area. 

Dining: Meals are taken at individual tables in the covered dining room or al fresco.  

Children: Children over the age of 12 are welcome at the camp. They may accept children as young as 6, but those under 12 must book private activities. The camp is unfenced and children need to be kept under close supervision at all times. 

Health: This is a malarial area. 

Communication: The camp has no mobile reception, no ‘phone, fax or email. Communication with the head office is via radio.
