Surrounded by Sal forest, Kings Lodge is located on a fourteen hectare estate about ten minutes drive from the main entrance to Bandhavgarh National Park. This makes it an ideal base for wildlife spotting, with morning and afternoon safaris let by skilled guides. The sal and deciduous forest of Bandhavgarh are home to nilgai, Indian wild dog, leopard, jungle cat and several species of deer as well as tiger, so safaris promise to be exciting. During your stay you also have the chance to visit a local village with a guide from the lodge, go bird watching, walking, cycling and enjoy picnics.

Kings Lodge consists of eighteen light and spacious rooms, of which eight are on stilts. All are equipped with air conditioning and bathrooms with bathtubs and full hot and cold running water. Each room has a large open veranda where you can enjoy views over the grassland and forest.

The central dining area serves both Indian and western meals, and on chilly nights a fire blazes in the hearth giving a cosy feel. There's a small library where you can brush up on natural history, and a tower with views over the estate. The outdoor swimming pool offers exercise and relief from the heat on warm days, and there's a spa where you can enjoy the benefits of Indian massage. The lodge has been designed to reflect local architecture, is decorated with tribal arts, and has wooden furnishings made from recycled wood and driftwood.
