Open: King Lewanika Lodge, previously called Mambeti and totally rebuilt, first opened at the end of March 2017 and is scheduled to open from late October to mid July each year.

Location: The lodge is located on the upper Munde stream in Liuwa National Park, and is the only permanent safari camp in the park. The nearest airport is at Kalabo, around a 2.5 hour drive from the lodge.

Rooms: There are 6 tented villas, including a larger family villa with 2 bedrooms, divided by a curtain. Maximum guest capacity is 15. Villas are arranged along the edge of the floodplain and set well apart from each other. Each has a bedroom, indoor seating area, bathroom with twin hand basins, indoor and outdoor showers, and a private deck with sun loungers. The bathroom can be separated from the bedroom and sitting area by a curtain. All are open to the front, maximising the views. Beds are fitted with mosquito nets, and bedrooms have freestanding fans to circulate the air. There is hanging space for clothes as well as storage shelves.

Activities: Guided walks, game drives and night drives are all offered.

Facilities: There is a large lounge with easy chairs, sofas, coffee tables, a selection of reading material and a bar in one corner. The main deck has a covered sitting area, and steps lead down to the firepit.

Dining: There are indoor and outdoor dining areas. Most meals are eaten together as a group. Bush dinners can be arranged.

Children: Children aged 12 years and over are welcome. The 2-bedroom villa is suitable for families.

Health: This is a malarial area.

Communication: There is Wi-Fi internet access but no mobile phone signal.
