Open: Kimondo Camp is open from June to November in the northern Serengeti and from December to March in the southern Serengeti.

Location: The camp has 2 locations in the Serengeti. It is in the north from around 1st June to 15th November with the nearest airstrip at Lamai about an hour and 25 minutes’ drive away. From about 1st December to 31st March it is in the south, with the nearest airstrip at Serengeti South (Kusini), 25 minutes away.

Rooms: There are 8 guest tents, all with private bathrooms and verandas. 2 of the tents are slightly larger and provide great family accommodation. Bathrooms are equipped with a bucket shower, wash basin with running water and flush toilet. Hot water is provided on request for showers. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and bathrobes are provided. In the tent you’ll have a supply of mineral water, solar-powered lighting, a folder containing camp information, a torch, mosquito repellent and insect spray. Radios are provided for emergency use.

Activities: The camp offers morning game drives with picnic breakfast, evening drives with sundowners and all day game drives with picnic meals. The camp has 3 open vehicles for game drives, a head guide plus 2 other resident guides.

Facilities: The communal area has a dining room and comfy lounge with games and books. There is a camp fire each evening where sundowner drinks are served. There is a curio shop selling locally-made items. You’ll be greeted at the airstrip with a hot or cold drink and light snack. A further welcome drink is served on arrival at the camp. The camp offers a daily laundry service for garments other than underwear, though washing powder is provided for your use in your tent.

Dining: Meals can be taken communally or at individual tables, as you prefer. They are served in the mess tent and outdoors. Breakfast is available from 6am, a buffet lunch from 1pm, tea and cake in the afternoon and dinner from 8pm. Breakfast can be eaten before or after the morning game drive. Hot drinks and biscuits are provided on waking. Tea and coffee are available all day and there is bar offering a range of soft and alcoholic drinks. Wine is offered with meals. Soft drinks, local beers, South African house wines and local spirits are included in the rates. Other drinks can be paid for in cash (US$, Euros, £Sterling and TSH) and by credit card.

Children: Children aged 6 years and over are welcome.

Health: This is a malarial area.

Communication: Wi-Fi internet access is available in a small tent near the mess area. There is a satellite phone for emergency use.
