Open: Kichaka Game Lodge is open all year.

Location: The lodge is on a private game reserve in the Eastern Cape. The nearest airport is Port Elizabeth, about an hour’s drive away.  

Rooms: There are 10 guest suites, providing spacious (70sq m) accommodation with a bedroom, lounge, bathroom, and deck. Mod cons include air conditioning, underfloor heating, IDD phone, radio, CD player, IPod dock, safe, minibar, tea and coffee makers, hairdryer, free Wi-Fi and battery charging points. Bathrooms have twin hand basins, a bath and shower and there’s also an outdoor shower. The deck includes a plunge pool. There is 24 hour room service.

Activities You can go for game drives and guided walks in the private reserve, take bird watching tours and observe wildlife at the waterhole from the viewing deck. Star gazing is enhanced by the lodge’s high-powered telescope. Other activities available nearby include fishing, hiking, horse riding and golf.

Facilities:  The main lodge is a large 2-storey building containing the lounge, with its sofas and large open fire, dining room and bar downstairs and the library, which has a TV, on the upper floor. There is a large viewing deck positioned directly above the waterhole, and a kidney-shaped pool and wooden deck with a sofa and sun loungers.

Dining:  Meals are served at separate tables in the dining room and on the deck, lit by lamps after dark. You can also have private meals served at your suite. The lodge has a selection of wines, including South African house wines, premier wines French Champagne, to accompany meals.  

Children: Children aged 8 years and over are welcome. Each suite can accommodate 1 child, a well as 2 adults.

Health:  This is not a malarial area.

Communication:  There is free Wi-Fi internet access in all suites and in the main lodge.
