Experience should have been magical (and when not irritated by what happened, it was) but for what was in effect one full day plus a half day, it is simply not acceptable for Evergreen Tours to say that setting off at 10 am on the full day was standard. It was v hot and humid, moving in the freshness of the morning would have been a tonic, and they were perfectly capable of setting off at 9 am on the final day.

Go for 2 at least two nights to get out of the scrum in the lake. Beautiful boat with very attentive staff (3) to look after the two of us. A truly wonderful experience.

This exceeded our expectations particularly with regard to the catering. The chef was producing meals that matched any thing we had experienced in all the large hotels we had stayed in and all without the need for plastic bottles.

We had a great experience on the houseboat, ours was very comfortable and could be enclosed at night which meant that we avoided getting bitten. The food was freshly cooked and was good but very repetitive if you are doing more than one night (we did two nights), drinks are also very limited, water and tea only.

The boat was fine but we weren't forwarned that it was like the Norfolk Broads on a busy bank holiday 10times over.We weren't too impressed with the actual area we were in, surely there could have been somewhere less busy.

Loved this experience as reported above. I would certainly recommend two nights if you have the time as the river is getting more crowded with houseboats and having the extra time allows you to go beyond the crowds. We were able to watch all the boats heading back as we sat enjoying our breakfast. The pace allows you to stop and relax and just enjoy the sights around you - not for everyone but certainly fascinating. I do not know how the cook managed to make such delicious food in such a small space and our bed was soooo comfortable.

A lovely trip, nice crew and good food. A day trip would have been fine as the boat moored up for the evening just after five opposite the starting point near a track with motorbikes and houses. It was not the tranquil location that we had expected.
