Kawaza Village is home to villagers of the Kunda tribe and is located adjacent to world-famous wildlife safari destination, South Luangwa National Park in Zambia. Kawaza offers travellers the opportunity to visit a genuine Zambian rural village and to get involved with local people and village life.

Robin Pope Safaris provide much needed financial support to the village and for ten years had supported the school in the Nsefu village area - the Kawaza School now has reputation in Zambia as a great example of how tourism can improve a community. Guests can visit by day or stay overnight in the village, next to the school. Many of the camp staff live in the area. Accommodation and food is totally African.

There is chance to meet the Chief, a local traditional healer and you can spend a morning with the ladies collecting water and cooking, helping with village chores. This is not a set up tourist village, it is a chance to spend time with an African family and community. A donation to the school is included in the overnight fee.
