Open: Kasbah du Toubkal is open all year.
Location: Kasbah du Toubkal is located in the Imlil Valley in the High
Atlas Mountains, about 60kms from Marrakech. It is on the slopes of Jbel
Toubkal, the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains. The kasbah’s remote reception
is in Imlil, from where it is a 15-minute walk up to the Kasbah. The nearest
airport is Marrakech, about 90 minutes away.
Rooms: The kasbah offers accommodation in 5 standard
rooms, 2 superior rooms, 5 deluxe rooms and a junior suite. All have en-suite
bathrooms. They also have tea and coffee making facilities, ‘fridge stocked
with cold drinks, CD players and Wi-Fi internet access. Superior and deluxe
rooms have a balcony or terrace. There is also a separate building, the garden
house, which has 3 en-suite bedrooms, a lounge, dining room and kitchen, ideal
for guests wanting more privacy. Slippers and bathrobes are supplied for all
guests. Hot water bottles are available on cooler evenings.
Activities: Explore Imlil village and
surrounding area on foot or by mule, take guided day treks or overnight treks
in the mountains, relax at the Kasbah, enjoy the hammam (steam bath).
Facilities: The kasbah
has a roof terrace with great views of the surrounding scenery, where meals and
drinks are served. In winter meals are taken in the dining room by the fire. Cuisine
is traditional Moroccan using local ingredients. Mint tea, coffee and soft
drinks are available throughout the day. No alcohol is served on the premises,
but you can bring your own. There is a comfortable lounge. The kasbah has a courtyard
garden and terraces. There is a shop selling local natural products. Hiking
equipment (sleeping bags, waterproof jackets, trekking poles) can be hired from
the kasbah.
Dining: Meals are
taken communally.
Children: Children of all ages are accepted. The garden house is well suited to
families.
Communication: There is Wi-Fi internet
access.
Notes: The kasbah has a
minimum stay requirement of 2 nights.
