Open: Settlers Drift is open all year. It re-opened after refurbishment in September 2018.

Location: Settlers Drift is in Kariega Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape. The nearest airport is at Port Elizabeth, about 80 minutes (110km) away.

Rooms: There are nine luxury tented suites, each covering 110sqm. The bedroom includes a sitting area, minibar, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, safe and wood burning stove. It leads out to a deck with a shaded sitting area. The en-suite bathroom is equipped with a shower, bathtub and twin hand basins and there;s an additional outdoor shower. The interior is air conditioned and also has a ceiling fan.

Activities: Twice daily 4x4 safaris, guided bush walks, morning boat trips on the Kariega River, fishing and canoeing are possible. Please note that walking guides are often not armed unless looking for white rhino and we do not recommend accompanying unarmed guides on walks in Kariega among big game.

Facilities: The lodge has a restaurant, bar, lounge-cum-library, wine cellar, large deck, firepit, boma for outdoor dining, gift shop, small pool and sala for spa treatments.

Dining: Meals usually eaten at separate tables.

Children: Children aged 11 years and over are welcome.

Health: This is not a malarial area.

Communication: There is internet access in the main lodge.
