The Jehan Numa Retreat is in a private estate bordering the forests of Van Vihar National Park, a little way from Bhopal. It has been designed to allow guests to relax and enjoy a slower pace of life, to de-stress with spa treatments, savour fine food and take walks and bike rides in the leafy forest.
The retreat is built in the style of a local village, with individual single storey cottages providing guest accommodation. Their simple appearance belies the luxury within. Air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, minibars, tea and coffee makers and WiFi are among the mod cons that will make your stay comfortable. All cottages have their own bathrooms and living rooms.
The open air restaurant specialises in Indian cuisine, with the emphasis on taste and nutrition. There's a separate indoor fine dining restaurant and bar. The spa forms the core of many guests' stay, with highly trained therapists offering massages and revitalising treatments.
Recreation facilities include a 20-metre outdoor pool, gym, golfing green and network of walking and cycling trails in the forest. You can take drives in the national park to see wildlife which includes tigers, bears, hyenas and crocodiles. Tours of old Bhopal with a local guide are also popular.
