This attractive Heritage Hotel is a 17th century haveli, centred round a courtyard and set on the shore of Lake Pichola. It's a perfect place to base yourself in Udaipur, within walking distance of palaces, temples and shops, and makes a peaceful retreat when you want to escape bustling city life.
Guest rooms are arranged around the courtyard. The decor and furniture is traditional in style and many feature cushioned window seats. All have private bathrooms with hot and cold running water. Television and telephones add a modern touch.
The restaurant has views of the serene lake and the much-photographed Lake Palace, and the terrace is ideal for al fresco dining. Indian, Chinese and continental cuisines are served, providing plenty of choice. There's a bar for sociable drinks. The hotel has a small rooftop pool and an ayurvedic centre where you can treat yourself to a therapeutic massage.
As well as the usual sightseeing options, staff can arrange guided tours, excursions further afield to locations such as the Monsoon Palace and Jain temples at Ranakpur, and activities including horse riding.

Client Rating for India 5/5 from 130 reviews
What a fantastic way to enjoy the water traffic to and from Udaipur on Christmas day, sitting on the roof top of the hotel with a beer or a cup of masala chai. We travelled to the hotel via tuk-tuk as the roads are too narrow to get right in and were amazed that such a fantastic place could be tucked away in such a central spot. As you climb the stairs to stand on the roof top, you are amazed once more to see you are right on the waters edge. The rooms are clean, well equipped and very spacious. One of the best showers we experienced in India - water comes via your own boiler in the bathroom. Meals could be taken in the restaurant or outside on the roof and there is a good menu to choose from. As its an Haveli you expect a little noise form closing doors and fellow guest but we had a great nights sleep. A good choice to stay in Udaipur.
