Infinity Resort Kaziranga

India

  • A good value base for exploring Kaziranga National Park.
  • Close to the central gate of the park.
  • Jeep safaris to search for great one-horned rhinos and three species you won’t find in central India parks: wild elephants, gibbons and giant hornbills. You might even spot a Bengal tiger, plus other exciting wildlife.
  • Excellent birding in the park, with over 470 species.

Open: Usually from September to June, depending on the rains though most international visitors tend only to stay when the park is open, from November to the end of April (can vary depending on the rains).

Location: The lodge is only about 5 minutes’ drive east from the central gate of the park. To get here, you fly to Guwahati airport (from Delhi or Calcutta) then drive east for about 5½ hours. Alternatively, fly to Jorhat Airport then drive 2 hours west, or fly to Dibrugar airport and drive 3 hours west. The last two options are more risky due to the airlines that fly here.

Rooms: There are 16 rooms. They are all the same, though 8 have a twin bed configuration and 8 have a king-size bed. All are en-suite with showers, aircon and ceiling fan, safe, kettle and fridge/minibar. There is mozzy netting on some (not all) of the windows. Each has a small balcony.

Activities: Game-viewing in Kaziranga National Park (open roughly November to April – can fluctuate with the rains).

Facilities: They have one naturalist which we can request for you if he is available when you book. He is a well-known guide who particularly photographers and birders tend to find very good. There is a large pond with a natural bamboo area by it – good for boating or fishing or just for short nature walks around it. They also have a small campfire area.

Dining: There is a good-sized restaurant which is quite plainly decorated. Most tables are indoors but there is also an outdoor terrace area. The restaurant is up steps, so not accessible for anyone with mobility issues (though they will cater in rooms if this is the case). The meals are buffet-style.

Children: Children 6 years+ are welcome. Please ask if you have younger children.

Health: This is a malarial area.

Communication: Mobile signals is available. Wifi is available, but neither strong nor guaranteed.

Client Rating for India 5/5 from 130 reviews

We didn’t stay here but had a good look around. It’s a simple place with no luxuries, though certainly comfortable enough. If you want a less expensive option at Kaziranga we think this would be your best choice. The manager was very enthusiastic and helpful, and they have a well-known naturalist guide based here, which says a lot about their commitment to the wildlife experience.
