Location: This family run hotel is located within its own private private reserve in the cloud-forests of Monteverde.

Rooms: There 23 rooms at the Belmar Hotel located in two chalets. All well furnished with hand carved furniture and local artworks. Rooms have large en-suite bathrooms, and a private balcony or veranda overlooking the cloud-forest and Nicoya Peninsula in the distance. Each room has a mini bar, bathrobe & slippers, hair dryer, safety deposit box, WiFi.

Activities: There is plenty to do both on the private reserve and the surrounding cloud-forest. Enjoy a natural history & bird watching tour or a guided night hike. Enjoy a tour of the organic garden and greenhouse where much of the produce is grown for the restaurant. Thrill-seekers can enjoy an extreme canopy tour, canyoning and horse riding. Those seeking a more sedate experience can opt for a sugarcane and coffee tour, chocolate tour, visit the orchid and butterfly gardens of Monteverde or even take a bat tour.

Facilities: The hotel has a restaurant and lounge bar, there's also a juice and tea bar where drinks are always available. There is a spa, Jacuzzi and a yoga area where you can join yoga sessions held on most days.

Dining: Dining is at individual tables.

Health: Costa Rica has a low risk of malaria.
