Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp is in the Palmwag private concession on the edge of the Skeleton Coast National Park. If remoteness is what you are after, then this could be for you – the camp is only accessible by light aircraft.

This is an 8-tent exclusive camp set seemingly in the middle of nowhere. You could be forgiven for thinking this rugged valley is devoid of life but it is home to a surprising number of diverse plants and animals.  Fog, coming in from the Atlantic Ocean ensures precious moisture that sustains the environment.  The fog and the Hoanib River support the vegetation that is the source of food for the animals that call this desert home which include springbok, giraffe, cheetah and surprisingly, elephants.

The 7 tents and one family unit are large and luxurious.  Each has stylish en-suite bedrooms with shaded outdoor decks with comfy seating. The floor-to-ceiling windows make the most of the stunning scenery and the beautiful sunrises. The sail-like canvas that covers the tents is contemporary in style and this theme has been continued inside.

The main area has a small pool, a comfy lounge with large soft couches, a fireplace bar and both indoor and outdoor dining areas where you can enjoy the excellent food prepared by the chef.
